1914-1918 City War Memorial, Newcastle

In compliance with the current specification outlined by English Heritage to conserve outdoor bronze, dead wax was removed followed by a hot pressure wash DOFF cleaning system.

After this stage the areas that required conservation were assessed. A JOS system was then used to clean the memorial effectively and economically and without any compromise to the substrate. The prepared areas were then re-patinated to match the original.

The final stage was the application of hot microcrystalline wax which was buffed to a lint-free finish.
