In the UK, the system has become established as the leading system for the removal of carbon sulphation and other brittle soilings. This technique develops a swirling vortex of air abrasive and water with a high degree of control. In the field of metal conservation this provides an ability to discriminate between desirous and unwanted oxides/salts and this considerably improves the speed and consistency of the result.
The system uses water at high temperature to remove flexible soilings and coatings efficiently and in an environmentally responsible way. The temperature of the water permits the hygienic removal of organic growths and bird droppings or the melting of coatings such as wax, bitumen and acrylics. Whilst operating well above 100°C heat stable substrates such as brick, stone, concrete or metals and their oxides remain unaffected.
